Review: The Face Shop Aqua Tinted BB Cream (Face it)

Hello lovely humans!

How are you doing? Today we have a Korean BB Cream that I use during the winter for its moisturizing properties and heavier coverage. During the summer, I like to use my Urban Decay Naked Foundation.

“With a 70% moisture content, including deep sea water, a light application provides a sense of coolness and freshness the moment it touches the skin.”

Let’s see if this BB cream lives up to its claim!

Formula: Thinner than most foundations, thicker than sheer foundations, contains heavy fragrance

The Aqua version of the Face It line of BB creams feels thinner, and more watery than the rest, thus making it easier to blend. Its formula is definitely thinner than most drug store foundations, but still thicker than sheer/lightweight foundations – like the UD Naked Skin Foundation. If that makes sense! What I love about this BB cream is that it doesn’t oxidize , and it moisturises with a cooling effect on your skin during application! For this reason, I wouldn’t recommend this for summer usage unless you have dry skin. It gets oily. If you do use it in the summer though, it does have an SPF of 20 PA+++.

A little goes a long way. There’s no need to apply a lot because it is easily buildable. You can apply with your fingers/brush/sponge to achieve a sheer look or a more flawless look- whatever you’re comfortable with! Another reason why you won’t need a lot is because it tends to get oily throughout the day.

Scent: Fragranced

It seems that most, if not all, of the BB creams in the Face It line contain fragrance. How do I explain the scent? Perfume-y? Similar to Vichy Aqualia Thermal line?

Colour selection: Light Beige and Natural Beige

Unfortunately, they still haven’t come out with a more diverse selection of colours for international customers. Both Light Beige and Natural Beige are similar in shade.

This comes in a small squeeze bottle. Although you may think that you paid a lot for the amount of product, this BB cream actually lasts a while!

Price: $25 CAD at The Face Shop stores

Overall: 3/5

Although this is great for a day when I want fast coverage, I wouldn’t use it everyday. It becomes too oily, and I’m not a fan of the fragrance. So overall, it was an okay product.

Do you ladies have any BB creams or lightweight foundations that you love? Share with your opinion with all us bloggers! I love to read comments anyway. ❤

Have a great weekend! See ya’ next time!
